Kit Longo (they/them) is a Costume Design MFA candidate at Temple University. They received a BA in Cultural Anthropology from Mount Holyoke College in 2016, with a minor in theater. Prior to returning to theater, Kit worked in community organizing and politics; their experience as Chief of Staff has served them well in planning for and adapting to the bustle of backstage responsibilities. They are deeply interested in how theater can allow communities to examine the workings of power structures on gender, race, and class; and how we can use the stage to imagine new possibilities.

They are accomplished in hand sewing, and embroidery both on garments and as a standalone medium for artistic expression. In addition to designing for the stage they also take sewing commissions with a focus on gender affirming clothing- they are very proud of the bespoke wedding dress they designed and hand-crafted.

Their recent theatrical work includes: stitching for the Upper Darby Summer Stage 2024 season, and costume designing Skellig (Temple), Playwrights in Progress (Friends Central School), As You Like It  (Shakespeare in Clark Park), and If Pretty Hurts, Ugly Must be a Muhfucka (Temple). They are excited to jump into opera in their upcoming costume design for Don Giovanni (Temple).
